About this opportunity
The Dr Elsie McFarland Leadership Award is awarded annually to an Alberta resident with satisfactory academic standing (minimum grade point average of at least 3.0) registered in the second, third, or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation, specializing in Bachelor of Arts in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism. The recipient will be selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership in the field of recreation on and off campus and academic standing combined with leadership involvement. Interest and commitment will be evidenced through volunteer or work involvement in recreation. This award was endowed by members of the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association and by alumni in memory of Elsie McFarland, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of Recreation.
