Dr Franta Hron Memorial Scholarship

The Dr Franta Hron Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of studies in Honors Geophysics at the University of Alberta. The scholarship was established through endowed funds by family, friends and colleagues of the late Dr Franta Hron, a former professor in the Department of Physics. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic standing with preference given to students demonstrating financial need. This award recognizes academic excellence in geophysics while supporting students who require financial assistance to continue their studies.
