About this opportunity
The Dr. Frederick Jones Sr. Family Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Southwest Dallas communities including Duncanville, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, and Lancaster, Texas. The scholarship supports students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or medicine at any accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university in the United States or its possessions. Awardees are selected based on school and community participation, community service, aspirations and ideals as expressed in essay, financial need, and two written letters of recommendation. Applicants must be in good standing as students with a cumulative high school or college GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale and must take the SAT or ACT. The scholarship provides up to $5,000 annually for four years to support students from these underserved communities in Southwest Dallas as they pursue higher education in STEM and medical fields.
