Dr. Guillermo Barron Memorial Philosophy Scholarship

The Dr. Guillermo Barron Memorial Philosophy Scholarship is awarded to a full-time Red Deer Polytechnic student who attended a post-secondary program in the most recent Fall term. The scholarship provides financial support with preference given to students taking a Philosophy course, though a Philosophy major is not required. The selection criteria emphasize essay submissions that demonstrate a spirit of independent thinking in philosophy. This memorial scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. Guillermo Barron and is offered through the Students' Association Red Deer Polytechnic in partnership with Catherine Kappmeier. Students are automatically considered for this award based on their completed General Application through the Red Deer Polytechnic scholarship portal.
