About this opportunity
The Dr. James and Jean McConnell Dental Scholarship was established by the family of James and Jean McConnell to honor their memory and as a tribute to their enduring commitment to education. Dr. James McConnell was a 1949 graduate of The Ohio State College of Dentistry and practiced dentistry for 41 years. After retirement, he was appointed to the adjunct faculty of the Ohio State College of Dentistry and served as Clinic Director of the Children's Dental Clinic of Coshocton County for several years.
This scholarship supports third- and fourth-year dental students at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry who are enrolled full-time. The scholarship provides $2,500 to eligible students who meet the criteria. The award commemorates the McConnells' dedication to dental education and their service to the community.
The scholarship is administered through The Columbus Foundation in coordination with The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Students interested in applying should contact the Director of Student Affairs at OSU College of Dentistry for application details and deadlines.
