Dr. James B. Haddow Scholarship

The Dr. James B. Haddow Scholarship is awarded annually to support one woman student in a Masters of Applied Science program or PhD program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Victoria. The scholarship provides $10,000 paid over two years to women graduates of UVic or other accredited Canadian engineering undergraduate programs who are pursuing full-time studies in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering (with preference for materials engineering focus), or engineering physics. Candidates must demonstrate academic rigor, contribution to the engineering community, leadership, integrity, and ability to work under pressure. Selection is based on recommendations from two engineering faculty members who can assess the candidate's qualifications and potential contribution to the Canadian engineering profession. Preference is given to UVic graduates, followed by graduates from other Canadian accredited engineering programs, with consideration for financial need.
