About this opportunity
The Dr. Jane Mahoney Scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students at UW-Milwaukee who demonstrate academic merit and are first-generation college students. The scholarship targets students who graduated from high schools in Milwaukee, Racine, or Beloit and have faced significant barriers to achieving higher education. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and be enrolled in a degree-granting program. The scholarship particularly seeks students who show interest in Black/African American history, culture, or artistic expression, provide service to the Black/African-American community, or participate in organizations promoting equity, inclusion, or justice for Black/African-Americans. Financial need is preferred but not required. Students can demonstrate their eligibility through personal statements, employment or volunteer service history, academic coursework, or involvement in relevant community, UWM, or student organizations.
