About this opportunity
The Dr. John Guckert Memorial Scholarship supports full-time junior and senior students at Eastern Illinois University who are pursuing teacher certification. Recipients must have successfully completed at least one Educational Foundations (EDF) or Secondary Education (SED) course at EIU and must be in good academic standing. Applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay discussing their educational philosophy and how EDF/SED classes changed or broadened their views of education. Financial need is a consideration and may be used as the determining factor when all other criteria are equal. The award is announced in the spring and awarded in the fall semester.
