Dr John MacDonald Medal in Arts

The Dr John MacDonald Medal in Arts is awarded annually to a convocating student with overall superior academic achievement in the BA Honors program in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Alberta. The recipient will be the student who has shown the highest distinction in scholarship. This award was established through endowed funds by professor Douglas E Smith in memory of his late colleague, a former Head of the Department of Philosophy and Psychology and Dean of Arts and Science. Students are automatically considered for this award based on their completed General Application.
