Dr John Wreglesworth Scholarship

Durham University - Department of History Original Source

About This Opportunity

The Dr John Wreglesworth Scholarship is funded by a generous legacy donation from Dr John Wreglesworth to Durham University. The scholarship is designed to aid students from the north-east of England who are in need of financial support and have been educated at a state-maintained school, college, or other secondary education provider. The scholarship encourages applications from students planning to embark on an Undergraduate History or Joint Honours degree with a minimum 50% History content who meet the eligibility criteria. Students undertaking a foundation year are also encouraged to apply. The scholarship provides £4,000 per year of study to contribute to tuition fees, living costs, and other associated costs of study. Priority is given to applicants who are the first generation of their family to attend higher education, are care-experienced, or are estranged from their family. Three awards are available annually for students commencing their studies in October 2026.
