About this opportunity
The Dr. Julian Jaynes Graduate Psychology Award provides financial support to UPEI graduates pursuing graduate studies in psychology. Named in honor of Dr. Julian Jaynes, a renowned psychologist and author best known for his 1976 book 'The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind', this award recognizes academic excellence and supports students continuing their education in psychology at the graduate level. Dr. Jaynes was a distinguished scholar who lectured at Princeton University and made significant contributions to the study of animal behavior, ethology, and human consciousness. The award reflects his legacy and connection to Prince Edward Island, where he spent much of his time at the family home, Bayfield House in Keppoch. Recipients must provide evidence of acceptance from the university where they will be pursuing their graduate studies in psychology.
