Dr. Julian Jaynes Memorial Entrance Scholarships

The Dr. Julian Jaynes Memorial Entrance Scholarships are awarded to first-year students who intend to major in Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island. These scholarships have been established through a generous donation from the Julian Jaynes Memorial Trust to create a lasting memorial to a renowned psychologist, author, and teacher. Julian Jaynes (1920-1997) was a distinguished psychologist who lectured at Princeton University from 1966 to 1990 and was a visiting lecturer to UPEI during summers. He was an associate editor of the internationally renowned journal Behavioural and Brain Science and served on the editorial board of the Journal of Mind and Behavior. The scholarships honor his achievements and reflect his commitment to supporting and encouraging young people in the study of psychology.
