About this opportunity
The Dr Kenneth Newbound Memorial Scholarship in Physics is awarded annually to a student with superior academic standing entering the third or fourth year of studies in honors or specialization Physics. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic standing. First preference is given to students pursuing a concentration in the photonics and condensed matter physics stream of the Applied Physics program. Second preference is given to students pursuing a concentration in plasma physics. The scholarship was established through endowed funds by family and friends in memory of Dr Kenneth Newbound, former Dean of Science and Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Alberta. Students are automatically considered based on their completed General Application.
