About This Opportunity

This award was established in memory of the late M. Chandrashekar, a Professor in the Department of Systems Design Engineering for more than twenty-five years. The award provides financial support for graduate students in the Faculty of Engineering who are working in the field of sustainable, environmentally benign energy-such as solar energy, wind energy, and biomass energy-or in obtaining a deeper understanding of how energy usage affects our environment, with a goal toward mitigating that effect. The awardee must be a full-time graduate student at the University of Waterloo at the time of application and may not be beyond the third term in the Master's program or the ninth term in the PhD program. The award provides up to $5,000 for 1 full award paid over 3 academic terms.
