About this opportunity
The Dr. Magdalena de la Teja Abrazando Al Exito Scholarship is awarded to first-generation college students enrolled at Tarrant County College who are pursuing an associate degree or certificate of completion. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate how Hispanic culture has influenced their lives and who meet academic and financial need requirements. Recipients must maintain at least a 2.75 GPA at TCC or have a high school equivalent or passing GED score if they are first-time TCC students. Additionally, recipients must have achieved a minimum cumulative grade of 'B' in any developmental coursework taken. The scholarship provides financial support for students enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours or full-time enrollment as defined by their program. Recipients are invited to attend the Abrazando al Exito celebration in October. The scholarship is renewable for the spring semester if the recipient maintains a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 and completes a minimum of 9 credit hours in the fall.
