About this opportunity
The Dr. Mary Cronin Literacy Scholarship recognizes students in the Faculty of Education who are pursuing studies in early or elementary reading and literacy development. The award is made to graduate students enrolled in a master or doctorate Education degree program with an interest in theory and pedagogy of reading, and in literacy development. Eligible students must have either successfully completed at least two reading and literacy development courses or have an approved thesis proposal in this area. The scholarship supports students who have demonstrated through an approved and relevant research program or practical experience a commitment to working in the area of reading and literacy development with children and families of primarily lower income groups. Financial need is also considered in the selection process.
