Dr Maury Van Vliet Athletic/Academic Scholarship

The Dr Maury Van Vliet Athletic/Academic Scholarship is awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the second, third or fourth year of the Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies or the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree programs at the University of Alberta. The recipient will be selected on the basis of excellence in their sport, both historically and in future potential, as well as academic standing. This scholarship honors the memory of Maury Van Vliet, the first Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, and is funded through an endowment established by friends and family.
