About this opportunity
The Dr. Murray Brown Psychology Graduate Memorial Award is valued at a minimum of $3,000 and is awarded annually to a full-time University of Waterloo graduate student registered in the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Arts. This scholarship has been established in memory of Dr. Murray Brown whose generous estate gift provided the funds to endow this award and support future psychology graduate students at the University of Waterloo.
The scholarship can be awarded to a student who holds an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) or Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST) which requires a matching component, or can be given to a student on the basis of scholastic excellence who is not concurrently receiving Tri-Agency funding (CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC). The award may be paid as the institutional matching funds for an OGS or QEII-GSST.
The scholarship is available to both Masters and Doctoral students in Psychology. Both Canadian/Permanent residents and International students with study permits are eligible. Recipients are selected automatically by the Faculty/Department based on scholastic excellence, and the award is typically distributed in the Fall term.
