Dr. Paul Nonnekes Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Social or Literary Theory

The Dr. Paul Nonnekes Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Social or Literary Theory is awarded to a Red Deer Polytechnic student enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts program. This scholarship recognizes academic excellence through essay work completed as part of normal coursework. The award provides $1,000 to one recipient per year who demonstrates outstanding work in the interdisciplinary fields related to Dr. Paul Nonnekes' scholarly legacy. Preference is given to students whose essays reflect an interdisciplinary approach and engage with topics such as psychoanalytic theory, critical theory, identity theory, trauma theory, gender studies, and cultural studies, with special emphasis on multiculturalism. Recipients must have attended the Bachelor of Arts program in the most recent academic year and be continuing their studies in the subsequent year of the program.
