Dr Peter Aylen Memorial Scholarship in Family Practice

The Dr Peter Aylen Memorial Scholarship in Family Practice is awarded to a student who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident with superior academic achievement enrolled in any year of a Doctor of Medicine degree. Selection is based on academic standing and demonstrated interest in Family Practice. This scholarship is endowed by the family and friends of the late Dr Peter Aylen, a physician in the NWMP and RCMP who served for several years in Fort Saskatchewan. Upon leaving the force, Dr Aylen continued to reside in the area where he practiced medicine, owned the town's first pharmacy, and was mayor of Fort Saskatchewan from 1909-1911.
