Dr. Robert V. Wharton Scholarship

The Dr. Robert V. Wharton Scholarship supports non-traditional English majors with demonstrated financial need at Eastern Illinois University. This scholarship recognizes students who have achieved strong academic performance in their major while managing non-traditional educational pathways. Recipients must be full-time or part-time English majors with an overall GPA of 3.0 and a major GPA of at least 3.25. Eligible students must have completed between 60 and 95 credit hours toward graduation, with at least 30 hours earned at Eastern Illinois University. Preference is given to single parents and students who demonstrate a keen appreciation of and facility for the study of literature. The award is announced in the spring semester and disbursed in the fall semester.
