About This Opportunity

The Dr Sam Nelson Undergraduate Scholarship in Geology is awarded annually to an undergraduate student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year of studies in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, majoring in Geology. The scholarship is funded through an endowment by the family and friends of Dr Sam Nelson, who taught Stratigraphy in the Department of Geology from 1954 to 1966. Students who are already in receipt of a major award may have lower priority for this scholarship. This scholarship is administered by the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta and is available to continuing students within the Faculty of Science.
