Dr Sidney Spaner Memorial Award in Psychotherapeutic Psychiatry

The Dr Sidney Spaner Memorial Award in Psychotherapeutic Psychiatry is offered annually to a second-year psychiatric resident on the basis of general psychiatric aptitude and promise in psychotherapeutic skills. This endowed award was established by Mrs Sylvia Spaner and friends of the late Dr Sidney Spaner to honor his memory and support excellence in psychiatric training. The award recognizes outstanding residents who demonstrate strong aptitude in psychiatry and show particular promise in developing psychotherapeutic skills. It is administered through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta.
