About this opportunity

The Dr. William V. Weber Minority Affairs/TRiO Retention Fund provides financial support for undergraduate students participating in the TRiO Program at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship is designed to promote retention and support underrepresented students in their educational journey. Recipients must be TRiO participants in good standing, qualify for financial aid, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better, and commit to continuing their studies at EIU. Preference is given to first-generation students, minority students (including gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students), and TRiO students. Each recipient must be nominated by a TRiO Program advisor, staff member, or academic mentor. Recipients may reapply for the award in subsequent years if they continue to meet the criteria. The award is announced in the Spring semester and paid the following Fall semester.
