Arendal Kommune offers operational grants to voluntary associations, clubs, and organizations within arts, culture, outdoor recreation, and sports. The grant program aims to support non-commercial actors in Arendal's voluntary organizational life, helping create a good community for living, growing up, and engaging in. The grants support regular activities and operations, not single events or standalone projects. Organizations must be democratically led, open for membership, registered in the Voluntary Registry with an organization number, and have existed for at least one year. Newly established organizations can apply for startup grants. The program has several categories including children and youth, sports, outdoor recreation, music, cultural activities, humanitarian/social work, and startup grants. Applications are processed by the administration under delegation from the city council, with music-related applications first reviewed by Arendal Music Council before final municipal decision.
