Bydel Nordre Aker announces two operating grants for senior centers effective from January 1, 2024, for the operation of senior centers currently known as Kuben 62+ Activity Center and Tåsen Senior Center. The senior centers are part of the district's offerings to seniors and shall be part of the district's health-promoting and preventive measures. The centers aim to provide services and activities that reach new groups of seniors in accordance with the Senior Report's strategy of independent, active and safe elderly in Oslo. The grants cover operating costs with specific requirements for services, user participation, volunteer recruitment, and daily activities. The funding is for three years (2024-2026) and will be regulated annually with municipal deflator. The district covers rent and electricity for Tåsen Senior Center, contingent on available lease arrangements. Grant recipients are expected to operate the centers five days a week with varied offerings including café operations, home meal delivery, networking, hair and foot care, language and IT courses, cultural offerings, training groups, and activities focused on promoting resources, motivation and mastery.
