Driftstilskudd til skolekorps

Drammen kommune provides operational grants to school bands (skolekorps) in the municipality. This operational grant is administered by Drammen kulturskole (cultural school), which has close collaboration with the municipal school bands and serves as the main venue for training musicians for these bands. Several annual collaboration meetings are arranged between the cultural school and the school bands. The goal is to facilitate the best possible training in wind and percussion instruments and through this contribute to growth and development for the school bands. Currently, there are 8 school bands in Drammen municipality with approximately 330 active musicians. The municipal operational grant to school bands is distributed based on an existing distribution key from the former Drammen municipality, developed together with the school bands. The distribution is based on membership numbers for active members in the school bands as of January 1, which the municipality obtains from the Norwegian Band Federation (Norges Musikkorps Forbund).
