About This Opportunity

ForumCiv has been implementing the EAST programme funded by Ford Foundation towards Enhancing Artivism for Social Transformations since 2023. The programme aims to strengthen the capacity of the creative sector and media to advocate for democracy, good governance, human rights, gender equality, and climate justice in Kenya. The programme works to empower citizens and promote democratic values, human rights, and fundamental freedoms through strengthening the capacity of creative sector actors and media to innovatively advocate for critical social issues. The programme addresses weak coalesced voice and collective action, deteriorating democratic conditions, human rights violations, youth apathy towards civic engagements, impact of disinformation and misinformation, and vulnerability to climate change. Focus areas include inclusive governance and democracy, community empowerment and resilience, gender equality, and networking and movement building. Note that this is an invitation-only programme and does not provide open calls/applications.
