About this opportunity
The ECCC Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Undergraduate Scholarships are awarded to students in their graduating year of high school (CEGEP for Quebec applicants) who wish to pursue bachelor's degrees leading to possible careers in environmental sciences or environmental engineering. The program aims to ensure that all voices are part of these fields, specifically targeting Employment Equity Act identified groups: Indigenous peoples, Persons with Disabilities, Visible Minorities, and Women. Environmental science and/or environmental engineering is taken to include any Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematical field where the student will pursue an undergraduate degree with a focus on the Environment. Four scholarships can be awarded each year, each providing $2,000 per year. The scholarships are renewable for a maximum of four years dependent on the availability of funding. Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years is contingent upon the applicant continuing to meet the requirements of the university program in each year, with transcripts of marks sent to CMOS-SCMO as verification of their continuing status.
