Economics Skylark Scholarship and Economics Award
About This Opportunity
Thanks to the generous support of Rialto Metals Ltd, the University of Leicester will be awarding one Economics Skylark Scholarship and one Economics Award during academic year 2025/26. These awards are intended for applicants with Black African or Caribbean heritage from socio-economically challenged backgrounds who will be commencing study of an Economics undergraduate degree programme from September 2025. The Economics Skylark Scholarship provides up to a maximum of £12,000 over three years, paid in equal installments in February of the first, second and third years of undergraduate study. The Economics Award provides £2,000 in the first year of study only, paid in February 2026. Both awards support students from areas of low participation in higher education or socio-economic deprivation, with household incomes of £30,000 or below. Eligible degree programmes include Economics BSc, Business Economics BSc, Economics and Accounting BSc, Economics and Data Analysis BSc, and Financial Economics and Banking BSc.

Applications are shortlisted by an awarding panel. The panel awards the Economics Skylark Scholarship to the applicant that most closely meets the eligibility criteria, then awards the Economics Award to the next most closely qualified applicant.
