About This Opportunity

The Eddie Bromiley Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the life of Edward O'Neal 'Eddie' Bromiley, a devoted father, husband, son and friend who worked at Chelan County PUD and was tragically killed in a workplace accident at Rock Island Dam. Eddie was raised on a ranch on Badger Mountain where he developed a strong work ethic, participated in 4-H, served as FFA president, competed in high school and intercollegiate rodeo, and graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in Electrical Distribution Theory. This scholarship assists graduating seniors or returning students from high schools in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Kittitas or Grant counties in Washington State who are pursuing education at trade schools or technical programs. The scholarship honors Eddie's legacy by supporting students continuing their education in technical fields, similar to the path he took. Preference is given to applicants who have participated in FFA (Future Farmers of America) or rodeo activities, reflecting Eddie's own high school involvement. The scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. Applications open January 1st and are due June 1st annually. Recipients must be attending an accredited trade school or educational institution with a field of study limited to technical programs.
