About This Opportunity

This fund supports not-for-profit groups providing charitable activities that benefit people living in the community council area of Marybank, Scatwell & Strathconon in Highland, Scotland. It is part of EDF Power Solutions Corriemoillie Wind Farm Community Fund, provided by EDF Power Solutions, the company that owns and operates the Corriemoillie Wind Farm in Ross-shire. The fund was established in 2016 with an initial donation and donations rise each year in line with the Consumer Price Index. The fund provides grants to not-for-profit groups to support charitable activities that enhance quality of life for local residents, contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities, and promote community spirit and encourage community activity. Priority areas include enhancing community facilities and physical assets, addressing the cost of living crisis, building skills and knowledge, addressing rural isolation, projects with widespread community support, creative approaches to meeting local needs, creating opportunities for all to get involved, and sourcing goods and services locally where appropriate. Both revenue items (e.g. running costs) and capital items (e.g. to buy equipment) can be funded. The Panel prefer that awards result in additional activity rather than being used primarily to maintain existing activity. The Panel revisits fund aims and priorities periodically to reflect changes in local needs and aspirations. Recommendations on grant awards are made by a Panel of local representatives drawn from the Marybank, Scatwell & Strathconon area. The Panel includes two nominees of the Community Council and up to eight other local residents appointed on a fair and transparent basis.
