About this opportunity
The Edgbaston & Northfield NNS Fund provides grants to organizations working with older adults (50+) in the Edgbaston or Northfield wards of Birmingham. The Neighbourhood Network Schemes are locality-based networks funded by Birmingham City Council that enable engagement with and investment in community assets for the purpose of supporting older people to connect with individuals, groups, organisations, activities, services and places in their local neighbourhood.
Grants of up to £10,000 are available for projects that contribute to helping citizens lead healthier, happier lives with increased financial capability within their own homes and communities. Projects must help older adults remain engaged with social activity, live healthy lifestyles, and/or increase their financial capability.
For Edgbaston, priority areas include dementia awareness, support for carers with loss and grief, preventing social isolation, and developing compassionate communities. For Northfield, priority areas include falls prevention, dementia support, carer/ex-carer support, and outreach projects that reach people experiencing social isolation in their homes. Organizations must be working actively within the defined Parliamentary Constituency boundaries of Edgbaston or Northfield.
