About this opportunity
The Edgbaston & Northfield NNS Fund for Younger Adults is a locality-based grant program that supports working age adults (18-49) with long term disabilities in the Edgbaston and Northfield constituencies of Birmingham. The fund enables community groups and organisations to deliver projects that help disabled adults lead healthier, happier lives with increased financial capability within their own homes and communities.
The fund aims to make existing places and activities more accessible to disabled adults, invest in new community activities which disabled adults can access, and develop the skills, knowledge and support available to community-based networks and organisations. Projects must contribute to outcomes including increased social participation, healthier lifestyles, maximised income, housing which supports independence, or helping carers feel more supported.
Priorities in Edgbaston include transition to adulthood, reducing social isolation, and digital inclusion. Priorities in Northfield include pathways to adulthood (employment, volunteering, social activities), support for carers and ex-carers, communication for sensory needs, and reaching people in social isolation through outreach programs.
Grants of up to £10,000 are available to local community groups working within the Edgbaston or Northfield Parliamentary Constituency boundaries.
