About this opportunity
The Edmonton and District Quilters Guild Award is an endowed scholarship awarded annually to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering fourth year of the BSc. in Human Ecology (Clothing, Textiles and Material Culture major) at the University of Alberta. The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and a demonstrated interest in quilting. Preference will be given to a student in financial need. This award was established by the Edmonton and District Quilters Guild to encourage the pursuit of education in the study of textiles and to recognize the importance of quilting in today's society as an art form, as an instrument of healing, as part of our legacy, and as a common thread which binds us all in friendship.
