Edna Fast Maguire WSU School of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship

The Edna Fast Maguire WSU School of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor Edna Fast Maguire's commitment to her alma mater, Washington State University. Edna's first husband, Robert 'Bob' R. Fast graduated from WSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1942 and married Edna in 1944. Edna and Bob moved to Hermiston, OR and opened and operated the Hermiston Veterinary Hospital. Bob passed in 1960 and Edna continued their business until 1996. They honored their lifelong love for animals by endowing a research lab at the WSU School of Veterinary Medicine and wanted to continue a legacy of philanthropic giving by starting this scholarship to be awarded to a student attending veterinary school at WSU. The scholarship is awarded annually to four DVM students admitted into Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine who demonstrate financial need. Priority is given to those who displayed significant service or contributions to their university or community at large.
