Edna Fast Maguire WSU School of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship

The Edna Fast Maguire WSU School of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor Edna Fast Maguire's commitment to her alma mater, Washington State University. Edna's first husband, Robert "Bob" R. Fast graduated from WSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1942 and married Edna in 1944. They opened and operated the Hermiston Veterinary Hospital in Oregon, and honored their lifelong love for animals by endowing a research lab at the WSU School of Veterinary Medicine. This scholarship continues their legacy of philanthropic giving by supporting students attending veterinary school at WSU. A total of four scholarships are awarded annually to DVM students who demonstrate financial need and have displayed significant service or contributions to their university or community.
