About this opportunity
The Education Scholarship from The National Foundation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing supports persons who are Deaf or hard of hearing with their studies at a tertiary level. The scholarship is designed to assist with course fees, books, interpreters, note-takers and extra tuition expenses for students studying at a recognised post-secondary institution.
Applications are open once per year between February 1st and March 31st. Individual applicants must be New Zealand citizens or have permanent residency and be residing in New Zealand. Eligible applicants include those who are Deaf, hard of hearing (or eligible to wear a hearing aid), or have an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). There is no age limit for this scholarship.
The application process requires submission of a fully completed application form along with supporting documents including audiogram reports or physician letters, minimum of two recent references, course outline, summary of qualifications, and bank account verification. Applicants will be notified of the progress of their application no later than two months after the closing date. Successful applicants are required to complete an accountability form after receiving funding.
