About this opportunity

This funding has been made available in memory of Edward and Ivy Rose Hood through Suffolk Community Foundation. The fund supports charitable and community activities in two key areas. The first area focuses on services aimed at supporting and improving local peoples' lives and life chances specifically in Lowestoft and Waveney. The second area supports community organisations and small scale green initiatives that benefit the environment, build community resilience and promote the health and wellbeing of communities through nature-based projects in Lowestoft and Waveney (first year only, after that anywhere in Suffolk). In the first year, approximately £200,000 of funding will be available in total, split equally across the two areas of funding. Maximum grants of £7,000 per annum are available, with some multi-year grants of up to 3 years considered. The fund accepts applications from charitable and voluntary groups, faith and community groups, and social enterprises addressing need within Suffolk. Funding can support new innovative projects, existing projects, core costs, project costs, reasonable capital costs (if essential to a project), organisational overheads, and full cost recovery.
