About this opportunity
The Edward J. McAdam & Rena C. McAdam Memorial Education Awards provide financial assistance to students pursuing education degrees at the University of Prince Edward Island. Two awards of a minimum of $500 each are granted annually to students in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Master of Education (M.Ed.), or PhD in Education programs who demonstrate the greatest financial need. These awards were established through the generous bequest of Rena C. (Reid) McAdam, who passed away in April 2017. Rena and her late husband Edward were devoted to education, companion animals, and healthcare. As residents of New Dominion, PE, and longtime residents of Terrace Bay, Ontario, they left a considerable gift to UPEI in Rena's Will. The scholarships honor their commitment to supporting education students and ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent talented students from pursuing their teaching and education research careers. The awards are distributed during the fall semester as part of UPEI's first semester award cycle.
