About this opportunity
The Edwyna Wheadon Postgraduate Scholarship provides funding for professional development experiences for English and language arts teachers working in public educational institutions. The scholarship supports teachers to enhance teaching skills and/or career development in teaching. Established by the Wheadon family in 2002 to honor Edwyna Wheadon's enduring passion for supporting the career-long education of classroom teachers, this memorial scholarship continues her vision and work. The scholarship is awarded annually to NCTE members who are teachers of English/language arts in publicly funded institutions. Scholarship payments are issued directly to accredited degree-granting institutions and may be used toward degree or non-degree courses, including certifications, endorsements, and leadership workshops. Recipients are selected based on their proposed professional development experience and how it will serve their career and their students.
