EIU Community Ambassador Scholarship

The EIU Community Ambassador Scholarship is designed for incoming freshmen from central Illinois who demonstrate leadership and community involvement. Recipients must be high school seniors graduating in the spring from one of 15 specified central Illinois counties. The scholarship was launched in 2017 with a $20,000 donation from Wells Fargo Advisors and has since been supported by numerous local businesses and individuals. Applicants must submit an essay explaining how they have served as a role model in their high school and community, including examples of involvement, leadership, community service, and recognition. The essay must also describe how they plan to continue being a role model as an EIU student. The award is announced in the spring and paid in the fall semester.
