Ekhagastiftelsen provides research grants for projects related to public health, natural healing capacity, and sustainable agricultural systems. The foundation prioritizes research that contributes to better public health through natural approaches and supports projects investigating the self-healing capacity of humans and nature. Applications can be submitted for various types of research including medical research (with preference for natural methods), agricultural research focused on food quality and health, and related interdisciplinary studies. The foundation has a restrictive stance on research using clinical animal experiments unless highly relevant and unavoidable. Grants are typically awarded to 10-20 projects annually, with total annual distribution ranging from 10-25 million SEK. The foundation evaluates applications based on project relevance to the foundation's mission, scientific quality of methods and execution, and the applicant's competence.
