About This Opportunity

The Eleanor Sophia Wood MySydney Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship designed to address educational disadvantage experienced by people living in areas affected by socio-economic disadvantage. The scholarship provides $8,500 per year to support domestic students who reside in the bottom 25 percent of areas according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics Socio-Economic Index for Areas (SEIFA) Index of Education and Occupation. The scholarship is automatically offered to eligible students who receive an unconditional admission offer through UAC, with no separate application required. The scholarship is tenable for the published full-time duration of the recipient's undergraduate degree up to a maximum of 5 years. In addition to the annual stipend, recipients receive support through the transition from school to university, annual University of Sydney Union Rewards Membership, access to the Vice Chancellor's Global Mobility Award (up to $5,000 for exchange programs), eligibility for additional accommodation scholarships, and access to alumni and industry mentoring programs in their final year.
