About This Opportunity

The Elevate program aims to address inequities in STEM through comprehensive scholarships enabling more diverse women and non-binary people to access tertiary STEM education, professional skills development and STEM leadership opportunities with industry and academia. The program is offered by the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) in consultation with the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. Up to 500 scholarships across three categories will be awarded over the life of the program. The program is open to anyone who identifies as a woman or as non-binary and plans to commence a new course at an Australian university. Scholarships are available across three categories: undergraduate studies, postgraduate research, and leadership scholarships for higher degrees to improve business acumen.

Review process

All applications are assessed for eligibility and eligible applications are reviewed by an expert selection committee consisting of STEM leaders with diverse backgrounds. The panel reviews deidentified responses and how the discipline aligns with priority disciplines. Selection uses weighted scores, diversity and inclusion considerations, and priority disciplines.
