Elite Athlete Scholarship

The Elite Athlete Scholarship is offered by Federation University Australia to support elite athletes pursuing higher education. This scholarship recognizes athletes who are acknowledged as elite by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), State Institute or Academy of Sport, AFL Players' Association, Rugby Union Players' Association, Rugby League Professionals Association, Australian Professional Footballers' Association, or as national squad members from Australian Sports Commission funded sports. The scholarship provides $7,000 in the first year and then $4,000 per year for up to 4 years of the degree for full-time students. Part-time students receive the scholarship pro-rata (half per year) for up to 8 years of the degree. The scholarship was first awarded in 2018 and aims to help elite athletes balance their sporting commitments with their academic pursuits at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The scholarship is available to both new and continuing domestic students studying at any Federation University location including Ballarat, Berwick, Gippsland, online, or Wimmera campuses.
