About this opportunity
The Elizabeth A Cooper Grant supports current undergraduate or postgraduate students who are registered with the Massey University Disability Services. Elizabeth A Cooper, who was severely disabled by polio in her childhood, was a significant leader in the disability rights movement and one of the founders of the Disabled Persons Assembly Palmerston North. This grant was established by Massey University in 2001 in her memory to help remove barriers to learning for students with disabilities.
The grant provides financial assistance usually between $500 and $1,000 for one year's duration. Preference is given to students who face additional support costs related to their studies due to their disability. Multiple awards are available each year.
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents enrolled full-time or part-time in any undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at Massey University. Students must be registered with the Massey University Disability Services at the time of application and currently enrolled and studying.
The selection process considers how the grant would benefit applicants and help remove barriers to their learning, with particular attention to students facing additional support costs related to their disability.
