About this opportunity

The Elizabeth and Henry Hamilton-Browne Scholarship provides financial assistance to female PhD students undertaking research within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. This postgraduate research scholarship has been established through a bequest from Elizabeth Hamilton-Browne to support doctoral research across various health and medical disciplines. The scholarship provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) rate for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Successful newly commencing international recipients may also be eligible to be nominated for the University of Sydney International Tuition Fee Scholarship. The scholarship supports full-time PhD candidates who demonstrate academic merit, strong research proposals, and previous research experience.

Candidates are assessed and ranked based on paid work experience (20%), publications (60%, with most points for first-authored Q1 journal publications), and other research outputs (20%). Student assessment accounts for 60% of final score, with supervisor's professionalism and collegiality rating accounting for 40%.
