About this opportunity
Established by Robert Woolrich, '76G an alumnus from the School of Public Health and Health Sciences and his wife, Noeline, a registered nurse, this scholarship honors the memory of Mr. Woolrich's late mother Elizabeth and pays tribute to Mr. and Mrs. Woolrich's personal and professional interests in end-of-life care.
The scholarship provides financial support for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the College of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst who have an interest in hospice, palliative and end-of-life care. Recipients are selected based on high academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrated strong leadership skills through extracurricular, athletic, community, or other volunteer commitments.
Applicants must write a short essay describing their interest in hospice, palliative and end-of-life care, and describe how they demonstrate leadership skills through various commitments. Additionally, applicants must maintain a clean judicial record with the University. Award amounts vary based on available funding.
