About this opportunity
This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to PhD students who are undertaking research in prevention, early detection or more effective treatment of breast cancer within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is funded by the Elvita Eveline Clough Bequest and provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Recipients must conduct full-time research focused on breast cancer prevention, early detection, or treatment. Successful newly commencing international recipients may be eligible to be nominated for the University of Sydney International Tuition Fee Scholarship. The scholarship selection is based on academic merit, area of study and research proposal, and previous research experience, with candidates assessed and ranked against paid work experience (20%), publications (60%), and other research outputs (20%).

Review process
Candidates are assessed and ranked against paid work experience (20%), publications (60%, with most points going to first authored Q1 journal publications), and other research outputs (20%). The student assessment accounts for 60% of the final score, while the remaining 40% is based on the supervisor's professionalism and collegiality rating.
