Emergency Aid Fund

The Emergency Aid Fund is administered by the Student Money Support Team at the University of Strathclyde and provides short-term, interest-free emergency loans to assist students facing serious and immediate financial hardship. The fund is designed to help registered students on graduating courses meet essential expenditures that cannot be deferred until receipt of other income such as student loans, stipends, or wages. Loans must be repaid within an agreed timeframe, usually within 90 days, and students must demonstrate a realistic means of repayment. The fund is available to help with living costs and travel costs but cannot be used for tuition fees, library fines, or other money owed to the University. Students must provide supporting evidence showing the need for the loan and their ability to repay from disposable income. This emergency support ensures that students can continue their studies during temporary financial difficulties while maintaining their academic progress.
